A SME Manufacturing company based in Haverhill, Suffolk are currently hiring for a CAD Designer/Estimator to join their team.
This is a permanent position, which is paying between GBP29,000 - GBP35,000 per annum (depending upon experience).
About the business:
This company design & manufacture equipment for the commercial & Industrial sectors through the UK, have around 20 staff in total & have been established for over half a century.
As a CAD Designer/Estimator you will be required to carry out the following duties:
Working on AutoCAD to upload fabrication drawings
Coordinate with and consult other team members/disciplines to design, layout and detail equipment for projects
Production of complex 3D Models and 2D drawings
Speaking with suppliers/contractors daily
Creating bills of materials from drawings for project costing
Getting involved with all of the quotations & estimates
Taking phone calls and email enquiries quotes, data & pricing onto excel spreadsheets
Looking at estimates that will range in value from around GBP5k - GBP200k
Applicant Requirements:
Qualification within engineering or similar is needed
Detailed working knowledge of CAD software programs including 2D and 3D AutoCAD or Autodesk Inventor
Fully conversant with general arrangement and fabrication drawings
Excellent communication skills
Background working within a manufacturing or engineering related field is required
Proficient user of all Microsoft programs, specifically Excel
Previous experience of estimating turnkey projects would be desirable
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team and to your own initiative
Working Hours:
Monday Thursday, 8am 5pm with an early finish on Fridays
