About the role

A Category Manager role at Kerry is like no other! You will be at the forefront of an innovative and fast moving business where you will be looking after high-growth categories and products within the big 4 retailers, whilst also looking at our own Kerry branded products and ensuring best product and shelf placement is key.

You will work cross functionally across the Marketing and Commercial businesses within Kerry whilst also having exposure to new and upcoming innovation projects such as growing the plant based and dairy free snacking space!

This is a hybrid role- working 2 days in the office and splitting the rest of your time between customer sites and remote working.

What will I be doing?

In Kerry we put the customer at the heart of everything we do. Our Category Managers are the key to success of the region by driving and nurturing relationships, growing categories and bringing insights and direction to our customers,

  • You will manage and conduct range and category reviews with relevant retail partners in the GB Market.
  • You will manage the day to day relationships with Customers that ensure we are a key part of their Category Strategy processes, range reviews and captaincy consideration enabling us to drive growth for Kerry DCF
  • You will implement category vision plans in conjunction with marketing, insight and commercial teams.
  • You will look at on-going prompt, actionable analysis, interpretation and dissemination of external continuous market data sources including IRI, Kantar, Dunnhumby, etc.
  • You will ensure distribution, space and quality of space targets are met or exceeded.
  • You will support and deliver excellent execution in store.
  • You will be accountable for tracking KPI's and working with the Category, Commercial, Marketing and Brand Managers to support performance delivery through cross-functional Natural Qork Teams and Growth Teams
  • You will look at the u nderstanding of macro environment, shopper dynamics and retailer landscape and driving actions based on this through the Marketing and Commercial functions.

  • Contribute to the management of complex stakeholder groups up, down; within and outside of Kerry Foods
  • You will work cross functionally undertaking key strategic projects and managing those successfully to completion

What do I need to be successful?

In Kerry we understand that people have very different career trajectories and experiences. In order to be successful in this role we would be looking for a number of Kerry Leadership competencies and aptitudes as well as your proven track record of success in a Category role.

In addition, in order to be successful in this role you should ideally have:

  • The ability to deliver insights to support category arguments drawing on different data sources - Intermediate or advance level in Excel & Intermediate or advanced level in specific Category Management tools ie IRI, Kantar WPO, Dunnhumby Shop etc
  • Ability to utilise continuous, qualitative, loyalty and retailer specific management information sources
  • Ability to develop competitor matrices.
  • Understanding RSP hierarchies/tiering and promo mechanics.
  • Understand roles and importance of segment in a category, analyse and recommend changes.
  • An understanding of the principles/methods of effective merchandising and space planning practice.
  • Understanding basic financial measures affecting category performance
  • Ability to communicate with retailers and internally across functions.
