Head Chef - Bedford and Stevenage
We currently have a great opportunity for a Head Chef to lead the brigade in a beautiful hotel in Bedford.
The Place
At the hotel our aim is to deliver an excellent, memorable experience for our guest and your job as Head Chef.
This is a really exciting time to be part of the team. The hotel which is situated in Bedford and has undergone a complete and beautiful refurbishment throughout. Food & Beverage areas consist of 150 seat brasserie, the terrace with a further 150 covers outside together will a new tea room and a busy conference and events business.
Head Chef - Stevenage
The Hotel is an independently owned boutique hotel in the heart of Stevenage with a fascinating history and a great reputation. The hotel has a British brasserie restaurant, serving breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner and is a popular location for weddings, meetings and events.
Refurbished in the last 5 years and due a restaurant refurbishment in 2023, the Food & Beverage areas consist of 100 seat brasserie and bar, the terrace with a further 50 covers outside together will a lounge area and a busy conference and events business.
A successful candidate for the head chef position will have experience working in both banqueting and a busy restaurant business and should be excited to manage both areas of the hotel effectively. Our head chef will be passionate about leading and developing the team around them; have a good understanding of food hygiene and health and safety management, profit margins and labour costs; be able to confidently use computer systems to order and control stock as well as emails and rotas; and above all be able to consistently deliver great food!
This role is a full-time contract which requires someone who is flexible with hours and can work weekends.

The Person
The Head Chef will have:
Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Head Chef in a similar environment
A flexible approach to their responsibilities and the ability to cover shifts as required
