Accounts Assistant

Accounts Assistant - Gainsborough - Up to GBP30,000Chase & Holland are excited to be working with a well-known business in Gainsborough to assist in the recruitment of an Accounts Assistant. The successful Accounts Assistant will be joining a small and busy finance team and reporting directly into the Financial Controller.This role would suit someone studying towards their AAT and looking to progress and learn within a business long term.Accounts Assistant Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the payable s ledger, reconciling supplier statements
• Processing of supplier invoices
• Help with month end processes, as well as completing a range of analysis as required
• Processes weekly BACS payments and closing the purchase ledger at month end
• Reconciles supplier statements, including intercompany, and deals with any issues that may arise from them
• VAT reclaim preparation and submission
• Reconciles designated accounts and records appropriate supporting evidence
• Daily update of the cash book, weekly cash reporting to Group Treasury
• Assist with year-end statutory audit preparation
• General support to the Accounting Team, assisting with any other duties as requested by the Financial Controller

Required Skills & Experience:

• Experience in a similar varied accounts role is required
• Oracle experience is preferred
• Intermediate Excel is a minimum requirement
• Experience of debt collecting
• Working towards AAT is preferable
• Commitment to meet deadlines with accuracy and willing to learn
• Knowledge of UK, German and French VAT rules for VAT reclaim preparation and submission
