We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic butcher to come and work in our friendly Lake District village shop in Broughton-in-Furness. You’ll get generous pay and benefits, work with a great bunch of people and make a real impact in a local community.

Our village shops are small and independent, and so the butcher is a key part of our team. You’ll have to be keen to take responsibility, always striving for superb customer service and high standards from the whole team. Specifically, the role will include:

- Producing meat for sale (good knife skills are essential!)
- Ordering products and making sure they’re always stored correctly
- Monitoring and controlling potential waste or loss
- Maintaining and enforcing exceptionally high standards of food hygiene
- Keeping a watchful eye on our range to ensure we always have a high quality and varied display of products

To succeed in the role, you’ll need to have some butchery / meat-cutting experience of course, but you’ll also need to be:

- Experienced in providing excellent customer service
- A natural team player
- A great communicator, both with your colleagues and members of the public
- Up for a challenge, willing to adapt and happy to learn new skills
- An effective leader – able to create a culture of high standards and teamwork in those around you
