Our global Aerospace engineering & product development customer in Surrey have a number of requirements for Stress Engineers to work within their research & development team.
We are looking for candidates with varying degrees of experience for these positions, preferably on a permanent basis, however contractors / temporary workers will also be considered. The contract positions will be deemed inside IR35.
The Role
The Stress Engineer will work with the global engineering services team, across multiple time-zones, in order to identify requirements and their associated solutions for active and upcoming aircraft cabin interior reconfiguration projects.
Area of Responsibility
Compile and review structural substantiation documents related to modifications for aircraft cabin interiors.
Guide certification activities to ensure compliance with design requirements, and be a technical focal for certification and stress issues relating to cabin interior modifications and any third-party equipment integration.
Compile and review structural substantiation documents related to modifications for aircraft cabin interiors.
Product certification and integration to the aircraft of: new seating installations, new monument and furniture installations such as galleys, lavatories, class dividers, first class suites and VVIP furnishing.
Knowledge / Experience
Current or recent employment within the aerospace industry working with an EASA Part 21J Design Organisation (or equivalent).
Proficient in hand calculations, using classic stress analysis techniques.
Proficient in Finite Element Analysis of interior components.
Able to demonstrate a comprehensive working knowledge of EASA regulatory and applicable airworthiness requirements including (E)TSO, CS-25, JAR-25 and FAR 25 requirements (relevant to the stress/structures discipline).
Knowledge and experience of aircraft interior reconfiguration programmes and primary and secondary aircraft structures.
