Harbour is recruiting for a role which provides a vital link between domestic abuse incidents involving children and the child’s school. Each morning we provide details to County Durham schools of pupils who were present in the home during a domestic abuse incident the previous evening or weekend. This means the school staff can provide responsive emotional health and wellbeing support to the young person.
The nature of this work requires that it is carried out at a location in Newton Aycliffe and the start time is 7.30am, with a usual finish time no later than 1.15pm, working Monday to Friday. We can offer additional hours carrying out other duties or the postholder may prefer a morning-only role. We can also guarantee the 6-week school summer holiday off work if preferred.
The postholder will search Police systems to identify domestic abuse incidents involving children and provide appropriate details to the child’s school. Meticulous attention to detail is key with this role along with a good level of competence using a range of IT systems. The successful candidate will be organised, calm, and able to use their initiative. No previous experience is required as full training will be provided.
