Our global Aerospace engineering & product development customer in Surrey have a number of requirements for Electrical Design Engineers to work within their research & development team.
We are looking for candidates with varying degrees of experience for these positions, preferably on a permanent basis, however contractors / temporary workers will also be considered. The contract positions will be deemed inside IR35.
The Role
The Electrical Design Engineer will work with the global engineering services team, across multiple time-zones, in order to identify engineering requirements and solutions for active and upcoming aircraft cabin flight deck and cabin interior projects. In addition to above, role will require occasional national and/or international travel to visit customers and subcontractors.
Area of Responsibility
Compile certification documents to demonstrate compliance with relevant electrical systems related airworthiness requirements.
Responsible for performing the concept studies and trade-off studies.
Application of the new technologies while building new aircraft definition.
Propose and implement the improvements in terms of system installation with impact on weight, lead-time and cost of the aircraft.
Manage the complete modification process from the change request to the drawing s delivery.
Propose and implement digitalisation ideas through new ways of working.
Knowledge / Experience
Current or recent employment within the aerospace industry specifically working with an EASA Part 21J Design Organisation (or equivalent) is preferable.
Able to demonstrate a working knowledge of EASA regulatory and airworthiness requirements including (E)TSO, CS-25, JAR-25 and FAR-25 requirements (relevant to the electrical/avionics discipline).
Experience of aircraft interior reconfiguration programmes and aircraft electrical/avionics systems is preferable.
