The role of the Cloud Operations Engineer is to work with third party suppliers and other Tribal teams to achieve high levels of system availability and reliability, ensuring that Tribal's customer facing infrastructure and applications are secure and fit for purpose. The team purpose is to ensure systems are maintained across our AWS environment as well as responding to customer incidents and requests within agreed timescales.
What does the role involve?
In the role of Cloud Engineer you will support and maintain our AWS platform which hosts the company's products, maximising security, reliability and performance, ensuring they are fit for purpose, as well as resolving and escalating issues proactively.
Along with being responsible for deployment of product releases in accordance with defined change management processes you will be expected to maintain our server estate, currently based on the LAMP stack.
The role will be varied, ranging from working closely with our Sales, Support and Development teams assisting with installation, upgrading, patching and problem management of platform and application components to monitoring and responding to system alerts, managing backup and restoration processes, and maintaining operational reports.
Desirable skills required:
Knowledge and production experience with complex enterprise environments;
Working knowledge of AWS Platform (hands-on technical experience)
Experience of the LAMP Stack
Experience with automated deployment, configuration, and scripting tools (such as Bash, Python, PHP);
Experience of installation and implementation of services for Linux based systems
Database administration ( SQL server)
Experience of SSO implementations would be advantageous
Ability to work in a Team environment with a client focus.
In addition to your considerable technical prowess, you will have good interpersonal skills and a knack for explaining complex technical matters in a clear and easy to understand way.
You will also have a professional and analytical approach, strong knowledge transfer skills and meticulous attention to detail with the ability to work to deadlines.
