A busy, growing, friendly Peterborough Engineering company has asked me to search for a Support Engineer to support their Technical Director in his projects.
Your role will be to own the IT Support Function- and anything else that you can give in terms of Software Projects assistance would be a bonus. So let's split the job down into two:
IT Support: To support 50 employees, their hardware, systems, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 Admin Portal, Networks, Supporting staff working remotely and in the office, VMWare Virtual machines, Managing servers, phones, licencing, contracts. Monitoring the infrastructure and improving it as the company grows and technology improves.
Doing just the IT Support could be enough for the company- but if you have software skills, and want to use them, or keep learning, then let's talk now about the second part of the job:
Software Projects: The Technical Director could involve you in some of his software projects, which improve the company's machine ranges and how customers can use them. This software is written using either SQL, VBA, VB, ASP or PLC control software. If you have scripting, software programming ability in one of these to add to your IT skills, it would be an absolute bonus, and would put you towards the top of the salary scale that I quoted.
So, if you have the IT Support experience I asked for, great, please apply, that could be enough. But if you have both the IT and the Software, it would just be a big bonus. I look forward to hearing from you.
