PETA Ltd are looking to source an exceptional Engineering Apprentice for our client. You will be learning how to produce high value, low volume components and assemblies. You will be working in a mechanical manufacturing environment using drawings, hand tool tools and equipment. You will be checking your work against quality standards.

As an Engineering Apprentice this programme forms part of our clients succession planning for the future. You will be trained, supported and monitored throughout the process.

Training to be provided

During this engineering apprenticeship you will be required to attend PETA's Havant facility for off-the-job training. This will start as 13 months of day release (1 day a week) when you will complete your skills training. You will learn how to: work safely, use technical information, produce components using hand tools. You will also learn about mechanical and electrical equipment as well as how to assemble and test electronic circuits.

Your engineering apprenticeship will conclude with an independent end point assessment which will involve an observation to assess your competence.

You will be completing the Level 2 Engineering Operative standard which is 15 months long.

About the role

Joining the Quirepace team as a Mechanical Engineering Apprentice, your role will be focused on supporting the manufacturing processes on site. As part of your programme, you will learn how to:

Learn how to interpret and follow drawings
Prepare the work area
Build and test a variety of complex high value, low volume assemblies
Following laid down procedures and methods
Assemble mechanical hardware from component to sub-assembly to full assembly

To be considered for the role of Maintenance Engineer Apprentice, you will have a keen eye for detail and take pride in completing work to a high quality level. You will also require the following skills and qualifications

2 GCSE's at grade C or above (or equivalents) to include Maths and English are essential
Enthusiastic team player
Your motivation and drive are the assets that will be best appreciated
You will possess excellent communication skills
Your positive attitude and willingness to learn will be key assetsDesirable Skills

You will have a good level of dexterity and hand skills
Demonstrate a real interest in mechanical and electrical items
