HR Advisor - Full Time or Part Time (Minimum 3 days per week)
GBP34k to GBP38k (pro rata) + Benefits

  • An HR Advisor is required for The HR Dept, based in Theale, Reading.
  • To support our continued growth, we are looking for an experienced HR Generalist to work Full or Part Time (minimum of 3 days per week but must include Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, but flexible on hours worked). We offer an attractive rate of pay (GBP17 to GBP19.50 per hour), plus benefits.

    The work is extremely varied, and we currently provide HR support to over 100 SME Clients, varying in size from 2-300 staff, across all business sectors and also charities.

The Company:

  • The HR Dept provides the complete range of outsourced HR Services to small and medium sized companies in and around Reading, the Thames Valley, South Oxfordshire and the East Chilterns.

Main Duties:

  • Provide advice and guidance to clients on a range of HR issues either by telephone, email or face to face.
  • Manage casework such as recruitment, disciplinary, grievance, redundancy, sickness absence or performance issues
  • Produce Employee Handbook and Contracts of Employment for new clients.
  • Update existing Handbooks and Contracts of Employment in line with legislative changes
  • Deliver HR training courses for clients
  • Build strong working relationships with clients
  • Attend annual client review meetings
  • Maintain records for client advice in line with company procedures.
  • Actively seek opportunities to build client base to include business networking etc.
  • Keep abreast of changes in employment law & HR best practice.

Qualifications and Skills required:

  • Level 5 CIPD qualified with 3 + years experience in an HR advisory role
  • HR Consultancy/outsourced HR experience is useful, but not essential
  • Significant experience of managing Employee Relations issues
  • Good current working knowledge of Employment Law
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels, whether face to face, on the telephone or in writing
  • IT competence in Microsoft Office programs
  • Good organisational skills
  • Customer focussed
  • Proactive and able to work within agreed parameters
  • Experience of drafting and amending Employment Contracts and Employee Handbooks
  • Commercially aware; good understanding of the HR with needs of SME s
  • Full driving licence
