The Company
REED Engineering are working with one of our clients who are one of the largest companies in the Commercial Catering equipment sector in the UK. Working with many prestigious clients, they cover every need, from the total refurbishment of kitchens to the ongoing repair and maintenance of the equipment within.
The Role
This new role of Regional Engineering Manager South (COMCAT) is focussed on the repair and maintenance of commercial catering equipment through a team of Engineers, controlled from the National Service Centre in Dorset.
This role reports directly to the Head of Engineering. Direct reports will comprise of a field based Senior Technical Manager and a number of COMCAT Engineers. Your team could comprise up to 40 Engineers in total.
This is purely a managerial position and will not be 'hands on'. Your role will be to provide clients with a timely, quality repair service across the south of England. You will be supported in this by at least one field based Technical Manager.
The suitable person should be able to work autonomously for the most part. You will need to be comfortable creating your own direction in the main whilst at times working closely as a team with others to deliver on any larger overall objective.
This role is about the development and training of the field-based Engineering team, either directly, or via Senior Technical Managers to achieve our goals.
Person Specification
It is expected that you will have extensive experience as a hands-on COMCAT engineer
Previous, practical experience managing others is also vital, either as a Supervisor or line manager
Experience with Microsoft Systems such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint. A technocrat, comfortable with technology and willing to learn
Exceptional communication skills will be key as well as a diplomatic approach to problem solving
Strong customer service skills
Positive, can-do and driven to succeed
Extensive exposure to senior stakeholders is required
