Howdens Joinery are recruiting for Machine Operatives to join our team at Howden to produce plastic components to supply to our factories on the Howden and Runcorn sites and our primary distribution centres in Northampton.

In this role you will continuously seek to improve processes and be responsible for adhering to health and safety standards, company quality standards, output of machines and housekeeping.

Key responsibilities:

Performing machine pre use safety checks and setting up the machine in the allocated time frame using the specific SOP
Continuous monitoring of the machine during production
Performing detailed process quality checks in accordance with the area SOP and in line with the published control plans and gauges provided
Changing the injection moulder tools and making the necessary setting adjustments when required
Weekly autonomous and preventative maintenance
Performing minor adjustments when required and ensuring the area is maintained to the agreed housekeeping standards
Skills and experience required:

Production and / or manufacturing experience working in a fast-paced factory environment
Ability to read and understand manual handling risk assessments
MHE experience preferred but not essential
FLT experience is preferred but not essential as full training will be given
IOSHH Level 2 in H&S, Manufacturing Operations and a Certificate in the British Plastics Processing Industry is desirable
Injection moulding knowledge / previous experience in plastics is desirable
This role will include day and night shifts.

Pay Rate

GBP33,872 + shift disturbance and weekend allowance, in addition to monthly production bonuses.
