A fantastic opportunity for Software Developer to join a niche and highly successful specialist distributor. Ideally you will have a background in Logistics, Warehousing, Distribution or Manufacturing.
Purpose of the role: Within a Warehousing/Supply Chain environment and as an experienced SQL Software Developer, the purpose of the role is to develop, maintain and support critical business system software. The role will involve working with all areas of the business to understand, improve and develop new and existing software processes.
Key tasks:
Business Critical Application Development, Maintenance and Support
As a SQL Software Developer, you will be working with the Business s Operational teams to understand warehouse processes from Goods In to Goods Out, and provide the necessary support to develop, improve and troubleshoot the BlueYonder/JDA/Red Priairie Warehouse Management System (WMS) application
Within the WMS application and using your SQL experience to retrieve and manipulate data from the MS SQL Server 2019 database, create and develop: process workflows, reports, labels and pages
Read, understand and rectify SQL to troubleshoot and debug issues
Follow existing Business Change Management procedures and adhere to SLAs where applicable
Work with external/3rd party developers in developing, integrating, testing and rolling out application changes as required
Flexibility when the need arises to support all sites across all working shifts (including nightshift and weekends)
Ensure technical documentation is developed and maintained at all times
Qualifications:
Ideally undergraduate degree in an IT discipline (or minimum a of two years experience working with MS SQL Server environments)
Good academic achievement GCSE standard
Essential Skills/Knowledge:
SQL database development and queries
Conscientious and organised with good task timekeeping
Competent in creating clear documentation of process and work instruction
Able to work to targets reliably with limited supervision
Competency with language to clearly articulate solutions and suggestions to others
Desirable Skills/Knowledge:
Experience in Warehousing/Logistics environments
Working knowledge of BlueYonder WMS (formerly JDA and Red Prairie) and its internal service orientated architecture (MOCA)
Exposure and understanding the development of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
Report building (Jaspersoft with SQL integration)
Label building (Nicelabel with SQL integration)
Microsoft Operating Systems (Windows 10)
Microsoft Server Operating Systems (Server 2016, 2019)
Microsoft Office Suite
