Our Client, a Leading Designer and Manufacturer of Precision Engineered Products are looking for the following:
Trainee CNC Setter / Operator with Great Progression available to the Right Candidate
To support the Production team through setting and operating a range of production equipment efficiently and effectively to provide a range of components consistently and to the required quality standards.
Main duties of the Trainee CNC Operator / Setter:
Responsible for the day to day Operating, Setting, Fault Finding and Rectification of XYZ type CNC machines including working and learning the operational features and needs of Small Presses, Manual Drilling, Counter Boring, Steel Bending and other Bespoke Machines:
Meeting priorities set by Team Leader.
Carrying out operations in a timely manner.
Ensuring required quantities are processed and advising Team Leader of insufficient parts.
Ensuring machine(s) are operated to specifications shown within relevant drawings and correct setting is used and parts match technical drawings.
Ensuring all operations work to precise tolerances.
Responsible for resolving any quality issues as instructed through appropriate training, reporting more significant faults or defects to Team Leader.
Ensuring tooling is properly maintained through day-to-day housekeeping of machinery and work area.
Constantly seek improvement to the component production section through working practices, information and equipment.
Ensure that work is conducted in a safe environment according to safe practices - with adherence to all health and safety guidelines and in accordance with company procedures, ensuring correct relevant checks are being carried out and relevant documentation for operations and quality issues is completed where necessary.
Responsible for liaison with other members of the operations team and with other functions as necessary to achieve maximum production effectiveness and efficiency and to satisfy customer needs.
Undertake other tasks, including work within other sections, as requested by Production Manager within limits of capability and training.Trainee CNC Setter / Operator requirements:
Experience and/or skills for working within a manufacturing or component production environment; experience of CNC operation; experience of reading technical drawings.
Good time management and organisational skills; Good communication skills with the ability to communicate and liaise effectively at all levels within the Company; Ability to understand technical data;
Good understanding of H&S at work requirements relating to Production environment;
IT proficiency with the ability to input and retrieve data.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; Proactive attitude with ability and desire to learn; Keen eye for detail and quality; Positive Work Ethic with excellent attendance record; Team player with ability to share information.
Ability to manage own workload; Methodical approach to work with a right-first-time attitude; Positive approach to continuous improvement;
Fit for requirements of job (you should tell us if you would need any reasonable adjustments to be able to carry out the duties); Flexibility to work additional hours when required.Salary starting at GBP12.00 per hour rising to GBP13.50 per hour after a minimum of 6 months depending on skills & knowledge gained with paid overtime to meet the needs of the business
Normal working hours will be 39 hours per week, but subject to meeting the requirements of the job. Standard hours are 08.00-17.00 (Monday to Thursday) 08.00-13.00 (Friday)
