Yard Supervisor
We are looking for an experienced Yard Supervisor to oversee and coordinate the daily warehousing activities. You will implement productivity, quality, and customer service standards and achieve the appropriate level of volume within time limits.
To deliver excellent customer service in the yard, through accurate picking, excellent product knowledge and demonstrating best practice regarding Health & Safety. To build strong customer relationships with our trade and retail customers and ensure we are consistently delivering to expectations and needs. To lead by example setting the rest of the yard team a consistent and reliable high standard of work and drive, to create a high performing yard team. Responsible for ensuring stock is stored, handled, & picked effectively, with attention to minimising waste and product degradation. Safe utilisation of Forklifts, best practice Manual Handling and risk reduction through following Safe Operating Procedures.
Salary will be dependent on experience and age.
Skills required:
Must have a forklift License. Previous work history within a similar environment. Physically fit due to the nature of the work within this role. Enjoy working in a yard environment. Must be happy to get stuck in, hands on and support the rest of the Branch team. Good numeracy and ability to read picking tickets/delivery notes.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Accurate picking of products, checking quality and quantity prior to loading.
Safe & secure loading of products on or into collecting vehicles.
Accurate completion of all paperwork.
Provide Customers & Suppliers excellent service and attention in the Yard.
Unloading and checking of all received deliveries into yard from supplier.
Efficient and safe storage of received deliveries into appropriate locations observing company policies and Health & Safety.
Correct reporting and management of any damaged or compromised products or materials.
Determine staffing levels and assign workload.
Have good leadership and be able to motivate your team, to get the best out of them.
Efficient planning and stock management are key to this role
Hours: 7:00am to 4:30pm
Saturday: Every 2nd - 8:00am to 12 noon
