A fantastic opportunity has arisen to work for an excellent and growing provider of residential childcare based in Maidstone in Kent. The home is a small, 3-bedded EBD home for young people of both sexes. Here at Prospero health & Social Care we are searching for Residential Support Workers or candidates that are passionate about improving the lives of young people in residential care.
We are looking for trained and qualified staff that can work with these children to create a nurturing and safe environment for the young people that live in the home. The NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare / QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce is required for this position. Once you have completed your probationary period, you will also be supported through your Level 5 Qualification.
Duties include:
Completing household tasks
Ensuring electronic records are up to date and accurate
Helping children with schoolwork
Taking the children to activities
Providing structure to the lives of the children that you support
Line Management and support duties to more junior members of staff
Ensuring the safety of the children and to ensure the compliance of the home is to regulatory standards at all times. The hours are a combination of long days and sleep-in shifts. There is an additional sleep-in rate of GBP55 per sleep and there is an overtime rate paid at GBP12 per hour.
Package:
This position is paying a salary of GBP26,000 with a sleep-in rate of GBP55 per sleep. It will be expected that a successful candidate will sleep in twice per week, meaning the expected annual salary will reach GBP31,280. There is also an annual performance bonus worth GBP1,250 per annum
