The Opportunity:

We currently have a vacancy in our Metering and Billing Department in our Billing team, within our Energy and Asset Management function. The positions will be based at our Head Office (in Blackburn).

The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Providing support to the Credit Billing/online App and portal customers, and maintain the operation of the Credit Billing contracts
  • Ensuring the delivery of support activities are provided in an effective and professional manner
  • Assist with the development of our business systems, and positively promote and maintain the new glass app and portal
  • Liaise with senior co-ordinators to support the mobilisation of new contracts
  • Audit systems including communications to ensure correct business processes are followed.
  • Ensure contract data is cleansed and maintained regularly, and ensure compliance with our contractual and compliance obligations within our contracts
  • Accurately execute all administration tasks in relation to new account requests, and escalate any issues of concern to the team manager
  • Maintain client documentation ensuring all business systems are accurate and ensuring GDPR is always complied with
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external customers.
  • Handling of all customer queries via telephone/ Freshdesk and social media outlets, ensuring all calls and emails are actioned within the SLA period with exceptional customer service
  • Proactively monitor and maintain business systems and escalate any suspicious activity on the business systems
  • Daily management of Direct Debit requests and set up including verifications of DD mandates, Administration and Control of the Direct Debit system to include verification of new DD mandates, cancellations and amendments, and preparation of Direct Debit collection files
  • Issuing of monthly or quarterly Credit Bills and credit billing reminder process management and recording and revenue collections
  • Ensure VCRM is updated with all communications and is the single source of the truth
  • Reminder procedures for overdue bills and Credit Billing site procedures
  • Monthly reports for VE Clients and internal reporting
  • Any ad-hoc queries relating to contract management and carry out other duties consistent with the nature and responsibility of the role to support the team leader.

The Person:

Skills/Experience:

  • GCSE (A-C) minimum level in Maths and English
  • NVQ Level 3 or similar in a Business/ Administration related discipline (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge & experience of working with electronic Customer Service systems and Computer literate with working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Experience of providing a high level of service to customers (internal and external).
  • Purchasing/ invoicing experience (desirable)

Competencies:

  • Must satisfactorily pass CRB check (financial credit check)
  • A high level of confidentiality, tact and diplomacy and ensure compliance with GDPR
  • Confident manner, with Good Oral and Written Communication Skills, and a professional and effective Telephone manner
  • Ability to take responsibility, accountability and demonstrate both motivation and commitment
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Work effectively as part of a team and help build relationships within it, and to proactively help and support others to achieve team goals
  • Obtain cooperation from senior management, clients and other departments.
  • High degree of accuracy and effectively prioritise and perform tasks under pressure, aswell as working to deadlines effectively
