An exciting position of Fundraising Officer has become available this role will provide administrative support to the fundraising department to maximise the income and raise the profile of the business with in the local area.
This role requires excellent communication skills and strong organizational skills.
Work involves direct contact with senior personnel, employees and business contacts and the public therefore an ability to communicate at all levels is essential
This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure by the Criminal Records Bureau.
NATURE OF THE POST
The main responsibilities will be allocated by the Fundraising Manager and will include some evening and weekend work. You will be responsible for all aspects of the fundraising administration, managing small scale community events, raising awareness of the organisation locally, putting the content together for our website, social media pages and newsletters (currently 3 times per year) as well as making sure our supporters have a high quality experience.
The Fundraising Manager will guide your work, but you will prioritise and manage your own workload, working independently as well as part of a team. You ll be creative, use your initiative and be an excellent problem solver. It is essential that you have strong administration and IT skills, especially with Microsoft Excel. You will also need a full driving licence and have your own vehicle.
The post is an ideal role for you to develop your fundraising skills and knowledge. Whilst fundraising experience would be an advantage, it is not essential as there will be plenty of opportunities to learn on the job and through extra training if you have transferrable skills.

KEY DUTIES
Administration and Research
Provide administrative support to the Fundraising Manager and any administration duties for the organisation as directed by the CEO and Senior Team
Use all Microsoft packages, particularly Excel
Prepare and send out supporter thank you letters
Maintain all fundraising, finance and administrative records, including keeping the Harlequin Database and Restricted Funds Tracker up to date
Produce financial reports, statistics and the content for some grant reports
Record and produce the minutes from all department meetings
Co-ordinate all of the department s mailings
Build and develop excellent working relationships with the main office administrative team
Quarterly meetings with the finance team
Research databases and the internet for appeals/projects for funding by Charitable Trusts/Foundations and other supporters
Maintain stocks of stationery, materials and merchandise
Monthly bank reconciliation with the finance team
Support the Fundraising Manager with the Dreams Days Project, including promotion, planning and administration.
Keep Fundraising processes, procedures and contact list up to date.
Supporters
Send out appropriate information/materials to all stakeholders
Deal with incoming correspondence and requests, drafting replies and sendingout relevant information
Make calls to donors and supporters when required and make sure they have a positive experience
Make sure all supporters receive a quick and high quality response
Show supporters and potential supporters around our services to showcase how the business helps people with learning disabilities
Build links with all stakeholders to help raise the profile of the business and encourage support
Source raffle/auction prizes from existing supporters as well as approaching new / cold leads
Network within the local community to raise awareness of the business and grow supporters
Manage the distribution and collection of the businesses collection boxes with local companies and groups
Organise and manage any corporate volunteering days
Activities and Events
Support the Fundraising Manager in organising and promoting all events. These include the Christmas Fair, Open Days, Quiz Night, Bowling Night, Autumn Ball and Golf Day.
Represent Stockdales at other events and functions organised by third parties when required
Help to deliver presentations to groups in the local community as well as preparing materials, equipment and resources.
Manage specific projects and activities as allocated by the Fundraising Manager,
e.g. Christmas card purchasing and sales
Organise and manage the Christmas Draw
Marketing and Communications
Build excellent relationships with all stakeholders
Promote brand awareness and raise the profile of the organisation wherever possible
Keep the website content updated including the events listing, links, appropriate news articles and job listings
Support Fundraising Manager with creating content and scheduling posts for all our Social Media platforms. These include Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn
Be responsible for collating and managing all photographs from inside and outside of the organisation. You will also be required to take photographs as required
Gather photographs and draft content for the newsletters (currently 3 times per year) and any other publications as required
Help gather the content for ad hoc projects eg: promotional films etc
Liaise with Stockdales designer on projects when required
Other
Understand and comply with all relevant charity legislation, GDPR and Stockdales
policies and procedures
Maintain confidentiality at all times
Represent Stockdales in a professional way
Work effectively towards deadlines
Undertake other appropriate responsibilities in the organisation if required
