The Role

Do you have extensive knowledge of the construction industry and vocational education practices? Do you have an enthusiasm for and dedication towards working with hard-to-reach learners with varying SEMH and SEND? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

Enstruct Training are looking to recruit an experienced vocational Construction Instructor who can deliver across a range of trades including but not exclusively, Bricklaying, Tiling, Carpentry and Joinery, Plastering, Plumbing and Painting and Decorating.

The successful candidate will be expected to facilitate efficient learning of BTEC Level 1 and or 2 construction courses to learners at Key Stage 4. The role is as much around behaviour and group management as delivery of construction training.

Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of a Construction Instructor include, but are not limited to:

To develop and deliver accredited construction courses and experiential learning programmes to young people across Leicestershire.
To offer an inclusive alternative to mainstream education to young people from schools, colleges, Leicestershire s behaviour and inclusion partnerships and other educational organisations who have additional behaviour and learning needs, providing them with the opportunity to access a curriculum of learning more appropriate and accessible to their needs.
Provide skills-based learning which aim to assist employability and FE college prospects.
To actively engage and encourage the development of young people s social skills and emotional intelligence, linking with other agencies to support a cohesive approach to their needs.
To undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required.
To carry out your responsibilities with due regard to the Policies and Procedures of Enstruct Training at all times.
To maintain safe working environments and attend relevant training as directed.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Construction Instructor:

Experience within the construction sector
Driving Licence
Mindful of the challenges faced and occasional challenging behaviours presented by the young people who are supported by Enstruct.
Ability to create and deliver programme plans and schemes of work to groups of young people.
An understanding of tools and health and safety equipment and their safe use with groups of young people.
Practical skills and knowledge with construction tools, equipment and methods.
