Tooling Engineer required for a well-established multi-national packaging systems and solutions manufacturer in Derby.
Tooling Engineer Position Overview
Tool Room machine familiarisation / training inclusive of CNC, Milling, Lathe, Radial Drill, Surface Grinder, and other Hand Tools required for the job.
2D and 3D Cad operations.
Always adhere and commit to all Health & Safety requirements.
Carry out incoming/outgoing moulds inspections and complete all relevant documentation.
Prepare moulds in readiness for Production as per the Production plan and to the procedures documented.
Liaise with Production and provide support during tool changes and throughout production, ability to problem solve and troubleshoot the issues.
Carry out regular servicing and preventative maintenance to moulds.
Make continuous improvements to moulds by identifying faults and repairing, as and when necessary.
Work on a weekly shift rotation to give cover for the production needs.
Manufacture of new tooling, jigs, fixtures, etc.
Tooling Engineer Position Requirements
Ideally 3 years Industry experience post apprenticeship/training
Good knowledge/ability to perform all Tool Room operations
Computer literate
CAD experience
CNC trained for 3 axis, ideally Heidenhein milling machine and Hypermill conversant.
A good working knowledge of plastic injection mould toolsGood working knowledge of all tool making aspects
Tooling Engineer Position Remuneration
Working a week of (Apply online only) and a week of (Apply online only), alternating.
Basic Pay is approx. GBP30k.
There is a call-out roster. There is also a mandatory amount of overtime of 104 hours per year, then after that lots of overtime is available. In return for the 104 hours, we pay 10% extra salary each month automatically regardless of when the 104 hours are worked.
There is a bonus which pays approx. GBP2k per year (not guaranteed) so actual earnings are around GBP35k. Plus lots of overtime if desired.
Plus private healthcare, life assurance, 8% pension. Shopping discounts and gifts throughout the year.
