Borders and Enforcement

The Home Office s Immigration Enforcement team has the vital mission of keeping Britain s borders secure. We re here to ensure that prospective citizens comply with immigration laws, tackle people trafficking, and oversee the humane removal of those who have entered Britain illegally. Working closely with law enforcement partners and other government divisions, we have a crucial role to play in prosecuting serious and organised immigration crime and reducing the exploitation of vulnerable people.
Delivering comprehensive support to our Executive Officers, you will ensure they have all the information to make the right decisions - whether they re processing removals, investigating trafficking, transferring asylum seekers or considering sanctions against illegal immigrants. You will enjoy the satisfaction of progressing cases all the way to completion, giving you a real insight into the way we think and work, and can anticipate different challenges every day.
Organised, methodical and self-motivated, you will be adept at refining policies and procedures and capable of using IT systems (including the Microsoft Office suite) to a high level. Equally importantly, you should be capable of liaising effectively with diverse colleagues, managing files and records, logging correspondence and protecting personal data, and you will be keen to learn and progress. A background in business support or customer service would naturally be very useful, but above all we will value your ability to make your mark within a fast-paced environment with some strict deadlines.
