Role - Support Worker Location - Presteigne, Powys Salary - GBP23,023.00 to GBP24,069.50 based on 40.25 hours per week (days, nights, and weekends) + up to GBP600 pa travel allowance Overtime benefits of double time available Nights only and part time opportunities (23 hrs+) availableAre you a supportive and empathetic individual who wants to enhance the lives of children with Autism? We have an opportunity in our unique children s residential home and school based in the stunning, rural location of Presteigne, Powys. Summergil House is based on the river that separates the Welsh and English border, with views of both countries at either side.We offer a combined approach to care, education and in-house therapeutic support for Young People up to the age of 19 with Autism and other associated complex needs. The home boasts an impressive 18 acres of luscious greenery and mountain views to support the well-being of the People we support. In your new role, no two days are ever the same. you can enjoy activities such as vegetable planting and den making in the garden, sensory activities such as instrumental play and teaching basic life skills such as cookery classes - all for the benefit of their future.Other responsibilities will include ensuring the health, well-being and safety of our Young People, whilst taking on more of a professional, family member approach to Care. This is an inspiring but rewarding role, with some more challenging days than others. But, your support and encouragement will enrich the lives of our Young People to make a more positive future.A day in the life of a Support Worker with Orbis Education and Care Involves:
  • Providing tailored support to our Young People whilst following Care plans and liaising with the Multi-Disciplinary Team.
  • Assisting our Supported Individuals with day-to-day tasks and decision making.
  • Promoting independence by supporting with a range of educational, social and work-based activities.
  • Undertaking general housekeeping duties, plus elements of personal care.
  • Maintaining accurate record keeping of all activities in accordance with CIW and regulatory organisations.

  • Previous care experience preferred but not essential, full training will be provided with our fully comprehensive induction programme to prepare you on your journey.
In return for your support to our Young People as a Support Worker, you ll receive:
