NIAB is a leading UK centre for plant science, crop evaluation and agronomy, delivering work from its regional network and headquarters in Cambridge. Our field crop research and impartial information is used widely by the agricultural and horticultural community.

We are seeking a conscientious and enthusiastic person to join the Cambridge Regional Trials Centre. The position will work alongside the Cambridge Centre Manager and Arable Operations Manager to assist in managing and training staff involved in the delivery of the work from the centre to ensure that work is carried out efficiently, safely and to the highest standard whilst adhering to set guidelines.

Staff management, knowledge of machinery and field conditions are a requirement of the role to deliver the work using a range of bespoke trials and commercial equipment that may use Trimble RTK/VRS GPS. Applicants should enjoy carrying out a range of tasks and have a good standard of education and full driving licence. Agrochemical application certificates are a requirement of the role as is holding CPC s for Forklift and Tractor driving although if not held you will be expected to undertake training to obtain these. BASIS and FACTS are not an essential requirement for the role but would be an advantage.

A competitive salary will be paid for a 37-hour working week dependent on skills, experience, and qualifications. It is expected that the role will require additional hours to be worked which will be paid on top of the core salary.
