Field Service Engineer - MSP - GBP28k - Milton Keynes

Robert Walters is working with a rapidly growing and well-established MSP brand based in Milton Keynes. As a Field Service Engineer, you will provide on-site technical support capability to the organisation's client base across the UK. It involves assisting with troubleshooting/implementation of break/fix remedial work for hardware/software-related issues or the delivery of predefined project work on-premises. This role acts as the main point of contact for many of our clients and will be the organisation's eyes and ears and bring up any potential problems or opportunities to the Technical Delivery or Client Engagement Management teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Attending customer premises to perform various tasks which will include troubleshooting hardware or software faults across desktop, network/Wifi (Firewall, Switch, Router, AP's), server, UPS, UC & video conference solutions
Perform software builds/rebuilds on PCs and laptops as required
Carrying out predefined project work, ad-hoc requests, etc
Building customer relationships to ensure that the Engineer/Client relationship is trusted and strong
Logging detailed and accurate information into the Call Management system
Accountability for your personal call queue, ensuring that all calls are updated and closed in a timely fashion
Keeping the office informed of daily activity, particularly with arrival/departure times for each site visit
Communicating with clients to keep them updated on the progression of their issue and ensuring that customer satisfaction remains high
Additional duties and travel as directed by the Management team

Essential Qualities:

Experience in a similar role or 2nd line experience
Desire to provide outstanding customer service to our clients
Strong attention to detail with well-developed problem solving skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work alone and as part of a team
Professional and well-presented
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Impeccable time management skills with the ability to prioritise effectively
Strong knowledge of Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10 operating systems to an administrative level
Strong understanding of Office 365 and Microsoft Office software
Microsoft Terminal Services/RDP to support level
Good knowledge and experience with Microsoft Exchange
Knowledge and understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy etc

Desirable:

Experience supporting Apple Mac systems
Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server to support level
Experience of virtualised Microsoft environments
