Software Developer Remote Full Time GBP30,000 To GBP50,000

You will join our fully remote team, to help us in building on the newest iteration of our core software product, its peripherals, and all the glue in between. You will be involved in understanding the requirements of, designing, and implementing core features and functionality, devising improvements to existing systems and development processes, and using your diagnostics skills to trace and fix any quality issues.

Are you the right person for the job?
Proven expertise in teamwork and delivering high-quality software in software development, software engineering, or similar role
Working within Agile development methodologies and frameworks
A solid understanding of the importance and application of design patterns in software systems
Strong knowledge of security principles, and understanding of defensive code design
Experience with software design and development in a test-driven environment
Experience with relational database systems
Proven ability to learn new languages, technologies, and tools and identify where benefits from these could be adopted
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate clearly with non-technical teams within and outside of the business
A self-sufficient troubleshooting aptitude for problem identification and resolution
Attention to detail
High level of competency with C# (.NET 6 and Framework, ASP.NET Core API projects a plus)
Excellent grasp of T-SQL (Microsoft SQL Server)
Front-end web technology skills & tooling knowledge, i.e., Modern JS (ES6+), HTML, CSS, webpack, node, npm, etc
Experience with Vue.js (preferred), React, or another modern front-end development framework
TDD, integration, e2e testing
Excellent knowledge and application of industry standards and best practice
Git or other DVCS
Management of CI build systems such as Azure DevOps
Typescript
What will your role as a Software Developer look like?
Working with the Head of Development and the wider business to ensure business goals are being met
Eagerness to develop a deep and ongoing understanding of the needs of our users, the endoscopy and related specialities, and the medical field itself
Develop software by producing clean and efficient code to industry standards and following best practices
Review, troubleshoot, debug and resolve issues in existing software
Research, recommend and implement improvements to existing systems
Mentor, motivate, and teach members of the team in best practices, including performing code reviews, facilitating pair programming exercises, and generally ensuring knowledge transfer to help upskilling of the team
Create and maintain technical documentation
Keep abreast of new technologies and consider, where appropriate, how these may be integrated into the company s products
Form strong relationships with QA, ensuring a tight feedback loop and reduced defects
