We have a fantastic opportunity within our Energy Water business for an ambitious and talented Pre Contract Manager.
The successful candidate will be joining the existing team of passionate and dedicated bid professionals.
We are looking for people who have a wealth of knowledge in the main contracting market.
Focussed on the Energy and Water sectors, our business is evolving to ensure that we continue our delivery leadership as the UK adapts to climate change and meets the challenge of achieving the UK governments carbon net zero targets. Experience or knowledge of energy (electric and gas) transmission, renewable/green energy infrastructure, flood defence, water and waste water works, ports and general complex civils including tunnelling from GBP10M upwards to major project values would be an advantage
Responsibilities:
As a Pre contract manager you will be:
- Responsible for the pre-contract leadership, coordination across multiple bids and management of the internal gate approval stages
- Self-motivated and ability to manage and motivate talented teams working in different locations on multiple bids
- Oversee the production of winning bids and proposals aligned with win themes and business strategies
- Be prepared to develop innovative approaches to bids to secure winning positions
- Create resource plans and bid budgets to secure appropriate internal funding
- Coordination and capture of project risk and opportunities
- Work well under pressure and manage both internal and client deadlines
Skills and Experienced required:
- An Engineering or technical background ideally in the energy and water sector, or with transferrable and relevant experience.
- Able to work in collaborative teams and managing a wide range of subject matter experts
- Good understanding of major and minor civil projects including specialist trades
- Already experienced as a bid leader you will be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant field. You will have experience of managing significant bids and other submissions to win profitable work and you will have a personal success in winning quality led bids, demonstrating an innovative and creative approach.
