Fund Operations Technician
We have an excellent opportunity for either an entry level PMO or BA with some high level Fund Management/Fund Maintenance experience or an individual with Asset Maintenance / Box Management experience, but who is highly organised and can liaise at a legal / fund manager & administrative level
Key aspects of the role
- Full understanding of Insured Corporate Action/Fund Events requirements.
- Manage the Corporate actions ensuring these are scheduled on the team yearly plan and notify any external parties to ensure these are correctly implemented on time.
- Arrange all the appropriate system updates and ensure these are checked for the implementation date.
- Attend the Corporate Action and Fund Prioritisation Group Meetings and represent box ensuring all actions are logged
What you will be responsible for -
Insured and Target Plan Legals
- Help & understand fund legals for new fund Managers to ensure Aegon s key requirements are met and any issues are raised and resolved efficiently.
- Manage changes to existing fund manager legals to ensure these are up to date and reflect fund changes accurately.
- Represent box in a professional manner, with good communication skills, at any Internal or External meetings required to complete the legals.
Fund Manager Relationships
- Ability to build strong relationships at fund manager level to help the Legal and fund maintenance processes.
- Ensure Quarterly Fund Manager Scorecards are received, reviewed and take action on any potential issues/changes raised.
- Manage the Fund Manager mailbox ensuring all enquiries are managed to completion.
Price Error Reporting and Correcting.
- Ensure all price errors are logged and reported monthly.
- Complete the box Price error correction calculations competently.
- Maintain positive relationships with Internal and External clients to ensure all price errors flow through the correction process accurately and efficiently.
Understand and Cover Box and Trading Processes
- Gain a sound understanding of the Box and Trading processes and be able to provide cover to the team in the event of holidays/absence.
- Review the trading and Box process packs daily to ensure these meet the required Soxs standards in a timely manner.
Review Existing Processes and Spreadsheets
- Have a good understanding and overview of the existing processes and Spreadsheets and be able to identify any areas requiring improvements. Be able to offer solutions to increase efficiency and to make the system more robust and reliable.
- Ensure all spreadsheets continue to meet EUC regulations.
You will have Knowledge of one of the following:
- An understanding of External fund links in particular fund specifications, legal fund manager agreements
- An understanding of External fund links processing trading, pricing and valuations (Box Management).
- A knowledge of Asset set up / Maintenance and fund event / corporate action processing.
- A desire to PMO / BA within a fund processing environment - with excellent organisation and client relationship skills.
Knowledge and experience -
- Experience of project management / delivery
- Experience of unit linked pricing
- Qualifications:
- Graduate or qualified by appropriate level of investment back office, or similar, experience.
- Knowledge of investment or insured back office processes including fund accounting and unit pricing
- High level experience of using Microsoft / spreadsheets
- Previous experience in legal, regulatory or projects would be an advantage
