Production Operator
GBP20,000 + overtime potential
We are looking for experienced Production Operators for currently available positions with our electronics client based in Livingston. They have general production operator roles available (box building, ancillary work, etc) which require general similar job role / electronics industry (or similar) experience, and there are also specific Soldering PTH Pin Through Hole roles available as well which would require some previous experience in this and further solder training would also be provided as well.
You will be working in a busy production and manufacturing environment where attention to detail is essential. We are looking for reliable and enthusiastic people who are able to remain focused whilst under pressure to achieve accurate and on time delivery.
Areas currently available within the business include:
Box build / Ancillary operators: Assembly of box build, manual application of RTV (Glue guns), conformal coating - requires willingness to learn, manual dexterity, ability to follow written and oral instruction. Knowledge of crimping and cable assembly (ribbon cables, earth cables etc) also advantageous but is not essential.
Solder operators: PTH (Pin Through Hole) solder experience is essential for this particular team. Some experience in Surface Mount and/or J Standard soldering would also be beneficial but not essential as further training will be provided.
SMT Machine Operator / Surface-mount Machine Operator: loading and operating the machine at all parts of it.
QC Quality Control / Inspectors: Knowledge/Qualification of IPC 610 advantageous but previous experience considered as an alternative. Experience of electronic components advantageous.
The roles are available on either a permanent or contract basis and will be depending on skills, experience and the desired or needed employment requirements of applicants. The starting rate of basic pay is GBP10.03 per hour and the contracted working hours are 37.5 hours a week, Monday - Thursday 7.45am - 4.15pm, and Friday 7.45am - 1.15pm. Yearly base-hours salary equivalent is GBP20,000. Additional overtime is also regularly available in the evenings and weekends and is paid at the rate of time-and-a-half Monday to Saturday (GBP15 per hour) and double-time on a Sunday (GBP20 per hour).
