Zest Education are searching for an English Teacher to work in a busy secondary school in the Solihull area from September 2022. This is a full-time long-term role with full teacher responsibilities.

The OFSTED rated Good academy enjoys very good facilities, including the on-site Dovehouse Theatre, sports hall, good ICT facilities, staff laptops, a bright and airy library, digital language laboratory, science labs, music and photography suites, a dance studio with adjoining Media Technology suite, large modern Food Technology facilities and recently two new English classrooms.

Students experience high quality learning opportunities every day, both within and beyond the classroom. The school are focussed on developing the whole child so that whatever their starting point, they have the very best support they need to succeed. Staff care about ensuring that young people do well, both academically and personally so that when they leave, they have become highly competent, confident young people. Teachers work closely with students to ensure that they achieve everything they want to and more.

Within the English department, students experience a broad and enriching curriculum where creativity is valued along with confidence and mastery in language. Across the Key Stages students develop their competencies in reading, writing, speaking and learning.

The successful candidate must have:

A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS

A great team ethos and want to be part of a strong team environment

A strong passion for the subject of English and able to teach the curriculum across KS3-KS4

The ability to plan, mark and deliver high quality lessons

Excellent classroom and behaviour management

Rate of pay varies dependant on experience.

Both newly qualified teachers (NQT) / Early careers teachers (ECT) and experienced teachers will be equally considered for this role.

All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum)
