Role: Technical Manager
Location: Newbury, Berkshire
Salary: GBP48,000- GBP50,000 Plus Benefits
We are exclusively retained on a exciting Technical Manager opportunity
As Technical Manager you will have the remit of making real time decisions within the factory to ensure we stay legal and compliant with product but also systems and ways of working. For the right candidate you will have the chance to make a real impression and implement effective change
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY TASKS
• Ensuring effective communication between technical managers.
• Responsible for ensuring product safety and quality at the Newbury site.
• Drive site compliance to certification requirements & customer codes of practice i.e. BRC
• Be the lead for the technical function during customer audits and technical visits.
• Senior member of the HACCP team driving site compliance with food safety plan and facilitating continuous improvement of both CCP and prerequisite programmes controls.
• Act as a food safety and quality guardian in the incident process and during the decision-making process and ensure real time decisions are made.
• Challenge the need for concessions from established by procedures practices and drive change.
• Support other members of wider technical team to drive key technical KPIs including but not limited to: customer complaints, taste panel results, product micro performance, environmental performance where factory issues occur.
• Demonstrate role model effective and fair leadership behaviours.

• Able to manage and prioritise a varied workload
• Management experience
• Can identify and create new ideas, approaches or insights to supporting the technical agenda
• Keeps an open mind to ideas and solutions from others
• Makes prompt, clear decisions
• Can take the initiative, acts with confidence and works under own direction as appropriate
• Team player
• Demonstrates honesty and has strong moral principles
• Is proactive in establishing good relationships with our team and customers
The Shift Technical Manager is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week, based at our Newbury site. Monday -Friday . The benefit package includes a salary range of GBP48,000- GBP50,000 according to individual skills and previous experience, discretionary bonus, life assurance, pension scheme, access to healthcare cash plan and 31 days holiday (including bank holidays) increasing with years of service.
