STEM Recruitment Solutions have an exciting position for a Microbiology Senior Scientist. Working in our clients team in Glasgow, you will provide oversight to ensure projects (including custom work) are carried out with the appropriate scientific and regulatory standards while ensuring on time delivery and compliance to quality standards (GLP / GMP). You will be responsible for providing scientific expertise to advise and support routine GLP / GMP operations, as well as leading scientific discussions during investigations and client meetings. You will maintain an in depth understanding of our services and technical principles as well as advances in the field.
The ability to maintain effective working relationships with development services, sales and laboratory personnel is critical for success in the role.
Other duties include training and mentoring of other members of the team; writing and approving GMO risk assessments; writing protocols/SOPs/workbooks and progressing Change Controls for new service introductions; monitoring assay performance and advising/implementing improvements where necessary; maintaining regulatory studies in taking the role as Study Director or Responsible Scientist and may also support lab processes.
Who you are:
You have a minimum of BSc. in Microbiology or associated Biological Science discipline with significant and proven experience in a scientific laboratory role, ideally within a GLP / GMP contract testing laboratory environment.
You are strongly focused on quality and safety
You have good communication and interpersonal skills
You have strong planning and organisational skills
You are self motivated with strong initiative and drive
You have a good standard of written and spoken English and are computer literate, ideally with prior knowledge of working with LIMS.
