We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to join South Yorkshire Pensions Authority’s friendly and forward-thinking Benefits Team. We are a growing public sector organisation with a team of around 100 staff who run the workplace pension scheme, managing a Fund of over £10 billion on behalf of employing organisations, including Local Authorities and other public / not-for-profit sector bodies.

About the role

As our Pension Benefits Team Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading the Benefits Team to deliver a high-quality pension administration service to all stakeholders.

You’ll be expected to set the work agenda for the team and oversee the effective delivery of all the target areas for driving efficiency, managing the Authority’s casework and ensuring employers complete their responsibilities to enable benefits to be paid in line with members expectations. You’ll be expected to represent the Authority at external forums and deputise for the Head of Pensions Administration, when required.

About you

We’re looking for someone who holds a pension related qualification or who has significant relevant experience. With detailed knowledge and experience of administering a defined benefit pension scheme and its statutory requirements, you’ll be comfortable managing personnel and workloads against service level targets and have a track record in delivering improvements in a pensions environment.
