A leading FMCG Food Manufacturer is currently recruiting for a Packaging Innovation Manager / Packaging Development Manager to manage and organise the packaging technologists, set priorities and ensure their optimum output for the business. This Packaging Manager will develop next generation packaging to maintain competitive advantage and in response to briefs from the new product development team, provide a detailed brief to chosen suppliers, liaise with internal departments, and take the project through to operational approval
Packaging Innovation Manager Responsibilities include:
Arrange and oversee packaging trials on-site and at suppliers including pre-production trials and report on the outcome
Attend packaging print runs for approval where necessary or ensure printers know what they need to achieve
Design and manage in house printed labels as well as development of software used
Run cost saving and packaging optimisation projects
Manage projects with our customers updating their specification systems, using their artwork management systems and ensuring where possible both parties are happy with packaging suppliers and materials used
Plan and execute regular audits with our suppliers
Work with technical department to ensure compliancy to BRC legislation, BRC audits and other customer audits
Maintaining an understanding of packaging legislation and the recycling industry
Maintaining relationships with governing bodies and associations such as OPRL, WRAP, CPI & Campden BRI
You will be a Packaging Innovation Manager within a fast-paced Manufacturing environment. Food Manufacturing / Packaging experience will be deemed advantageous. You will be able to demonstrate exemplary leadership skills.
