WHAT: Learning Support Mentors needed to guide pupils with behaviour problems and learning difficulties across multiple Key Stage groups (age 4-16)

WHERE: Specialist Provision Schools and Primary Schools in Truro and other areas in central Cornwall

WHEN: September 2022

The Role:

Based in education settings across Truro, both specialist bespoke schools and Primary academies.
Full time Monday to Friday 8.30am - 3:15pm (Term time only)
September 2022 start ongoing
Support children with learning difficulties, emotional difficulties, academics and well-being
Training provided - safeguarding level 2, team teach, autism awareness
Pay GBP10.77 per hour
Previous experience working with Children or Adults with additional needs is preferred but not essential. Candidates with backgrounds in sports, youth work, care, nursing, coaching, drama and personal experience with children are welcome! Your personality and attitude is a key factor when choosing the successful teaching assistant. A minimum of core GCSE s is required.

The job of a teaching assistant is a vital role in education it bridges the gap between teacher and student to digest information, motivate and encourage to fulfil their potential. This teaching assistant role consists of working 1:1 and in small groups with children with either challenging behaviour or special educational needs. You will build a rapport with the child in order to gain their attention and help them focus on the work, aiding their learning. The types of special needs you will be supporting are autism, ADHD, hearing and visual impairment, social and emotional and mental health!

You'll be joining a large team of teaching assistants that support school s needs.

You:

Must have an enhanced DBS (assistance in gaining one if you don't already have one is provided)
A minimum of core GCSE's
Provide 2 recent references
