We want the very best managers in social care within Wirral and we have created three exciting new Operational Lead posts within children's social care.

Two of the posts work within frontline Child in Need and Child Protection Teams, with a third post specifically located within the Fostering Service.

You will be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England with significant experience in management within children's social care.

You will need a track record of improvement within a social care setting and a drive to put children first in everything you do. Excellent people skills, and the ability to support a team, manage change and improve performance will be key attributes you already possess, alongside a strong value base around supporting children and families around positive change and relationship based social work.

You will receive excellent support and training throughout your career and join a committed and passionate management group focussed on making a real difference in children's lives.

You will have:

  • A Social Work Degree or equivalent Social Work Qualification; current registration with Social Work England
  • Substantial management experience; strategic leadership skills and experience
  • A commitment to working transparently; in partnership with children, families, and partner agencies in a strength-based way
  • Experience of supporting ASYE in line with Skills for Care expectations
  • Knowledge of childcare legislation, statutory guidance, and best practice research
  • Knowledge of the Assessment Framework and ability to assess risk and need
  • Analytical report writing skills and the capacity to support the development of others in this area
  • Ability to make child centred, complex decisions, using evidence-based tools and analysis
  • Ability to understand and demonstrate a commitment to equality and diversity
  • Ability to use your own initiative as well as ability to work as part of a senior management team work
  • Commitment to your own personal development and professional growth
