We have a new vacancy for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our expanding Ship & Fleet Protection division. You will get to work on state-of-the-art designs of torpedo Launchers, Underwater Acoustics, Sensors and Communication Systems, for use in maritime defence.

What you will be doing:

As a Senior Systems Engineer you will be responsible for the design, development and support of our products from conception, through development, into production and to delivery.

- You will be a part of a multi-disciplined team designing, developing, proving, integrating, qualifying, commissioning and providing in-service support.
- You will utilise state-of-the-art methods, technology and tools to explore all aspects of the development lifecycle, engineering analysis, requirements analysis, design, implementation, test, build and product support.
- You will lead system integration verification and validation activities and manage issue resolution.
- There is a requirement to interface with customers (internal and external) and work closely with Engineers from all disciplines, Systems, Software, Electronic and Mechanical Engineering.
- Based at our office in Barnstaple, you may be required travel for meetings with customers and external contractors.

What we are looking for:

- Proven experience in Systems Engineering and Integration.
- A background in defence or experience with sonar or underwater acoustics would be a real bonus but are not essential.
- You will have a good understanding of the product lifecycle, from concept through to delivery.
- Ability to Design and develop System Designs for Prototyping and Production.
- Good problem solving skills and always looking to improve.
- Experience of Debug, Integration and Test of Production designs.
- Full clean driving licence and able to pass UK security clearance
