The role is within the Product Development Organization.
Our client is the centre of light/medium duty truck expertise for PACCAR, and a team of approximately 100 engineers are responsible for the design of the DAF LF range of vehicles.
The role
Provide technical knowledge of electrical harness routing, installation and supporting structures, working closely with other business areas
Develop design solutions using PTC Creo/Windchill CAD tools
Support design activities on major vehicle projects, cost reduction initiatives, production issues and service problem resolution
Release and maintain 3D CAD models, engineering drawings and BOM using engineering processes
Deliver technical solutions through calculation, design and development using Design for Six Sigma processes
Represent the Company in technical discussions with suppliers and customers, including travel as requiredExperience and Qualifications
Degree (or working towards) in a relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent technical qualification
PTC Creo CAD skills essential. Experience in Piping & Cable Design module is an advantage
Automotive design and development experience including knowledge of electrical harness design
Good knowledge of manufacturing processes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Able to work on own initiative, within cross functional teams and independently
Knowledge of GD&T an advantage
Proven engagement with Six Sigma techniques an advantageSalary
GBP35-GBP40K per annum
