CML stores and delivers a wide variety of food products across the ambient and chilled temperature ranges, while it also offers a series of added value solutions to their clients.
We are recruiting for a Yard Shunter to join our CML site in Telford on a full time, permanent basis.
Shift:
4 on 4 off Nights, 18;00 to 06:00
4 on 4 off Days, 06am - 18:00
Salary: GBP26,000 - GBP33,294 Plus GBP75pm attendance bonus. OT at 1.5

Job Description
Working within the Transport Department the main purpose of the role is to ensure a smooth transition when loading, unloading trailers, and ensuring maintenance and safety at all times.
Observing and adhering to company rules, site procedures and all aspects of Health & Safety and Hygiene at all times
Effectively managing own working time in line with the Road Transport Directive
Liaising with colleagues and ensuring completion of shift report
Conducting daily checks, immediately reporting any defects and / or damage and completing associated documentation
Carrying out trailer checks on loaded trailers and report to ops staff
Completing trailer checklist and reporting to operations desk
Carrying out shunting duties including relevant maintenance and safety checks
Liaising with the warehouse control and goods in staff to ensure smooth and efficient loading / unloading of trailers
Completing vehicles downloads as per the company policy
Monitoring services / MOTs - liaising with Transport Office and with service vendor
Assisting with fuel delivery / manual dip of fuel
Keeping yard in clean / tidy condition
Liaising with Transport Office as and when required i.e. special promotions and / or livery schedules
Manage the flow of traffic in and out of the yard
Qualifications
Must hold currently hold a Cat B, C or C+E licence
Attention to detail / accurate
Ability to work without direct supervision
Adaptable and methodical approach to work / training
Conscientious and reliable
Excellent communication skills in order to deliver accurate information
Able to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
Effectively prioritise workload in order to meet set deadlines
Able to work as part of a team or individually
Able to work effectively and communicate to the correct level
Have knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers hours
Be professional, approachable and helpful to ensure smooth running of the general operation
Maintaining a high standard of behaviour and appearance
Attending company training when required
