As Merchandiser you will be joining an established and growing catalogue and web based brand, based just outside Oxford. Purpose of the role:

Managing merchandising to optimise stock and thereby sales performance for all territories
Managing stock within KPI targets, in-stock %, back-order targets and clearance of old stock Key Responsibilities for the Merchandiser:

Prepare annual budgets/forecasts/OTB in conjunction with Merchandising Manager, Marketing Manager and the Commercial Finance Director and once agreed, operate within them to optimise sales
Ensure products & prices are set-up accurately and to deadline
Ensure POs are placed on a timely basis for initial and repeat orders
Ensure the Direct Despatch system products works effectively; Customers receive their orders in the time frames promised and supplier invoices are checked, authorised and handed to accounts promptly
Ensure quarantine stocks are reviewed and actioned in a timely manner
Ensure supplier invoices are checked and approved on a timely basis
Provide instruction and guidance to team members regarding the ordering, chasing-in and quality control of products, assisting as required and monitoring performance
Manage relationships with Suppliers to ensure KPIs are achieved
Liaise effectively with 3rd party fulfilment centre regarding stock arrival, delays, quality control
Work with other teams to deliver company objectives

Meetings & Reporting

Attend and contribute to weekly trading meetings in merchandising managers absence
Produce weekly/monthly reports for trading meetings
Use a WSSI to manage stocks within agreed OTB

Sales Analysis

Perform full analysis of sales performance by category, page and product sales and unit factor for each catalogue (by brand/territory)
Make recommendations on which categories should be extended/contracted by brand/country
Identify which Products should be carried forward based on sales & unit factors (taking space into consideration where appropriate)
Work with the CEO/merchandising manager to identify optimum percentage new v pick-up productSelection & Forecasting

Attend selection
Provide feedback on proposed items based on past performance of similar product
Accurately update spreadsheets as products are selected
Forecast performance of new and pick-up lines using your experience/sales history of past sellers and customer profiles. Review forecasts with the relevant buyer.
Review sales to forecast numbers each season to gain learnings for future seasons

Stock Control

Achieve targeted KPIs
Optimise sales and reduce fulfilment costs through effective management of in-stocks and backorders

Stock Clearance

Accurately categorise and report on stock as current, future and clearance
Implement a stock clearance policy in agreement with Commercial Finance Director
Trade the sale periods to optimise clearance of excess stock at a positive overall margin to be agreed with the Commercial Finance Director
Analyse 'sale' performance

Key Skills Required:

Merchandise experience would be an advantage
An interest in women's fashion and accessories
Detail orientated
Organised, used to working to deadlines
Confident communicator
Work well under pressure and able to multitask
Adaptable in a changing environment
Strong IT skills, particularly excel - this is used daily in this role and for reporting
Able to work on own initiative
