Bennett and Game are currently working with a Temperature Controlled Logistics company actively seeking a highly skilled Senior Warehouse and Operations Manager to join their Somerset location.
Our client work nationwide delivering chilled, frozen and ambient food products. Delivery points include catering and manufacturing sites, food service, wholesalers, markets and hotel groups. Due to continued growth they are looking for a 'hands on' individual to join their Somerset team.
Senior Warehouse and Operations Manager Position Overview
They are looking for an experienced warehouse/ operations manager at senior level, one who has a proven track record in this industry. You will have 80 staff within the warehouse, admin and operations department reporting to you.
Performing HR duties such as recruiting, selecting, scheduling, counselling and disciplining employees
Helping the company to promote high morale and communicate the company's operating policies, customer issues and safety measures
Performing financial predictions by preparing the annual budgets, scheduling expenditures, analysing variance and initiating corrective actions
Developing operations policies by evaluating and enforcing policies for products and inventory receipts
Reviewing and approving operational invoices and forwarding them to payment
Ensuring compliance with laws and regulations
Making sure that all employees fill out the required legal documents
Using real-time data collection to increase accuracy and lower labour costs
Maintaining computerised administration, stock inventory and retrieval systems
Enforcing health standards, safety and security procedures
Enforcing company rules and regulations
Managing staff, building teams, training employees and monitoring production performance
Communicating and interacting with clients, vendors, suppliers and customers
Overseeing logistics of receiving, warehousing and dispatch operations
Meeting regularly with warehouse leads to assess, analyse and develop actionable plans for loss prevention and productivity.
Managing existing storage contracts ensuring KPI's are met and customer satisfaction is maintained,
Managing staff and operations within the stores and warehouse
Interaction with customers
Implementation/development/maintenance of company standards
Liaising with the transport department to ensure customer timely order fulfilment

Salary Circa GBP50k depending on experience
