Job Purpose
To be an integral part of the European Finance team and provide a reliable, accurate and responsive service to the business in financial management, reporting and associated responsibilities in line with corporate and statutory procedure. To take an active lead in corporate taxation, inventory financial management and advanced data analytics to support the strategic direction of the business. To maintain a customer first philosophy and to ensure high levels of service to internal and external customers, partners and suppliers.
Key Accountabilities
Prepare and maintain accounts workbook incorporating full P&L, balance sheet and supporting reporting for monthly review with FD
Create, maintain, review and present data to the Senior Management Team in such areas as customer profitability, seasonal trends, proactive forecasting, and pricing support
Support on UK corporate tax, including R&D, and review with Assistant Accountant on European VAT returns
Liaison with UK Commercial Manager specifically in relation to finance deliverables on large contracts, statements of work and work orders
Maintain and review internal service pricing tools to ensure appropriate profitability and commercial viability
Financial management of inventory incorporating reconciliation, provision, aged profile, and review of customer held and bonded (consignment) stock
Partner rebates and commercials analysis, assisting in strategic procurement decisions
Weekly Sales/EBITDA forecasting support, including quarterly review of run-rate business
Support FD in the preparation and management of annual audit and following appropriate financial accounting standards, laws and policies
Support the FD and MD in the preparation of annual budgets
Liaise with third party reporting consultants on data integrity for US reporting • Assist in the integration of new ERP system Other Duties
Maintain up to date knowledge of relevant financial and accounting standards
Prepare and analyse data for the Finance Director as required
General administration and other office duties as requested Knowledge and Experience
Fully qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent)
Good working knowledge and experience of financial reporting and preparation of management and statutory accounts
Strong problem solving, analytical and reporting skills (SQL, Power BI, Tableau advantageous)
Strong literacy and numeracy skills with a high level of attention to detail
Integrity, confidentiality, and objectivity
High level IT literacy, specifically in respect of accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Proven ability to manage and complete projects on time and under pressure
Ability to appraise systems, processes, and controls with the intention of identifying and implementing change
Strong organisational skills and the ability to compile and interpret data and present it in a professional manner at a senior level
Self-accountable and self-motivated
