Legal Team Assistant required to join our busy and well-respected legal client in Chelmsford in their Commercial and Corporate Finance Team. This role of Legal Team Assistant is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to take their next step as a secretary as the role will be a mix between secretary and paralegal. It is essential for this position of Legal Team Assistant that you possess at least one year s previous experience as a secretary ideally in Commercial and Corporate Finance but other legal experience will be considered.
The Role
Supporting the team with their caseloads, helping to bridge the gap between fee earning, secretarial and administration duties
Organise daily routine to ensure correspondence, documents and instructions dictated or given by Fee Earners are completed accurately and on time.
Deal with post, internal and external, distribute and action as instructed
To assist in the production and sending out documents
Retain up to date knowledge of Fee Earners matters; provide Clients with realistic expectations of a Fee Earners availability.
Deal efficiently with track changes and creation of comparison documents
Ensure queries are dealt with in the first instance.
Arrange travel and any other activities on behalf of others
The Person
Previous secretarial and administration experience is essential, ideally gained within a legal commercial/corporate role.
Excellent timekeeping and communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong typing skills
A professional approach to work
A positive, friendly and helpful approach to being a team player
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise
Strong attention to detail
The ability to work as part of a team as well as on their own
IT literacy skills, proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Working hours Monday to Friday 9-5.30pm
Holiday 25 days plus bank holidays
