EY112 Vehicle and Airfield Support Equipment Team Technician (Non-Power Bay)
Location: Carterton, Oxfordshire
Salary: GBP27,879 to GBP29,098 per Annum + Benefits
Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently supporting our client in the search for a Vehicle and Airfield Support Equipment Team Technician (Non-Power Bay).
Our client is keen to offer opportunities to Ex-Military personnel, but all applications will be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities of a Vehicle and Airfield Support Equipment Team Technician (Non-Power Bay):
Ensure compliance with relevant Quality Systems.
Ensure appropriate cooperation and support to internal, external and independent audit activities.
Follow the company "Zero Harm" Open Reporting Safety Culture where all individuals are willing and able to report any issue or event which they believe has or could potentially lead to a Safety risk.
Support Continuous Improvement to ensure that the teams drive for effectiveness, efficiency and improvements in the output and working environment.
Maintenance and rectification of all non-powered Airfield Support Equipment including but not limited to; Aircraft Towing arms, cargo pallet dollies (trailers), aircraft jacks, Working at Height Personal Protective Equipment, Lifting Equipment and slings, access staging, oxygen gaseous equipment nitrogen trolleys and aviation support equipment such as aircraft tyre bead breakers.
Runway Arrestor Gear Daily Checks and Maintenance (Training will be provided).
Standby out of hours commitment -standby at home Mon-Fri.
Standby weeks (including Sat & Sun Runway Arrestor Gear Daily Checks) are an occasional commitment shared between the team.
Skills and Qualifications:
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle / Technical Maintenance arena.
Three years of experience in the Vehicle Maintenance or Mechanical Equipment Arena or equivalent. (Transferable skills from HGV, Vehicle, Plant Fitter, Aviation maintenance arena are all appropriate).
Ability to effectively and safely complete maintenance and rectification tasks.
Functional IT skills to use Electronic Technical Manuals and to update Maintenance Recording systems.
Be an excellent team player with a "can-do safely" approach to work.
Must have high standards of oral and written communication skills.
Due to the nature of the role, you must be able to achieve MoD Security Clearance.
Ability to integrate into teams.
The ability to understand, implement and to adhere to Technical Work Procedures, Health & Safety Instructions and Operating Procedures.
Ensure compliance with fire, emergency evacuation, quality, Risk, and COSHH standards and procedures.
Maintaining a clear, safe, tidy, effective and efficient working environment.
