Role Summary:
As an Hr Assistant you will be responsible for providing general administrative support on a full range of HR Issues to support our wonderful colleagues and the People Team. One of your main priorities will be assisting with recruitment and onboarding, you will collaborate with other Advisors to create an efficient and agile process. You will also act as our expert on keeping our records up to date.
Some of your other responsibilities (but not limited to) will include;
Hr Assistant
Acting as a first port of call and answering internal and external people related queries, these can be small issues such as a password reset or a more complex query such as one relating to a pay issue. You will need to be great at decision making to know when a query should be escalated to the HR Advisor.
Assist with our recruitment process, as mentioned above you will help create a swift process by performing reference requests and undertaking background vetting checks. All our new starters need to complete DBS check thus you will need to ensure we have the correct ID documents and be on hand to assist with DBS related queries.
You will support us with onboarding new starters and offboarding leavers , whilst onboarding new starters you will make sure they have all new starter documents required such as our company handbook and their job descriptions. For leavers, you will file resignation letters. You will need to have a good organisational skills here and keep track of our leavers and new starters.
Administrating HR documentation, this includes issuing contracts for new starters and sending our letters. This can include changes to employment terms or changes to pay letters. You may be expected to write multiple letters at once therefore you should have a good level of attention to detail. Other general admin duties consist of helping to maintain and upkeep our electronic records of employees.
Provide support with payroll activities by ensuring new starter details such as bank details, NI numbers are recorded correctly within the employee system, as you will be handling sensitive information working in a confidential manner is a must.
About you: You will be a self-starter that is eager to learn and develop in HR. You will be working as part of a small team and enjoy being challenged.
Essential criteria:
Level 3 CIPD qualified and studding or willing to study further
Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Excellent organisational skills
Confident communicator
Capable of dealing with people at all levels
Maintain a reliable, confidential and professional manner
Work well independently and as part of a team.
High levels of attention to detail.
Ability to prioritise and be flexible to changing deadlines.
Passionate about supporting people.
Previous experience working within an operations or HR department would be essential
Due to the nature of our work you ll need to have a basic check before you start.
Location:
You will be working from an office, based in Milton Keynes. Occasional travel to our clubs around the country may be required. Flexibility around working location will be considered.
Salary and benefits
GBP22,000 - GBP25,000, dependent on experience and qualifications
