Our business continues to grow creating a real career opportunity for an Employee Relations Assistant based in our Head office in Birmingham.

The Role:

The Employee Relations Assistant role is integral in providing effective support to our People Team, and advisory support to the wider business.

What you ll be doing:

You will be the first point of contact for our managers and colleagues who are looking for advice through various communication channels. Listening and engagement is really important to us. We need you to take the time to understand the queries in order to give the best advice and service possible.

General HR tasks and processing activities which cover the whole employee life cycle, carried out to a high standard ensuring that service level agreements are met and where possible, exceeded.

Work collaboratively with our Payroll team to ensure that payroll activities are completed and processed efficiently, accurately, and to the deadlines set out by the team.

Process Company benefits schemes where required.

Maintain accurate data in our HR system to ensure it reflects the current status of our staff.

Produce accurate, written correspondence for key HR activities.

To participate and assist in policy and process development, ensuring what we do complies with employment law and statutory guidelines.

Be able to drive continuous improvement - always looking for opportunities and better ways of doing things for both our colleagues and the People Team.

To support and assist the wider People Function as and when required.

Produce regular and accurate reports that will help the us make sound operational decisions, as well as driving continuous performance improvements.

Working collaboratively with internal departments where there is a crossover with operational requirements and tasks.

To carry out any ad hoc Employee Relations / project work as and when needed.

What we re looking for:

A minimum of two years HR experience, supporting managers and colleagues in all aspects of HR, ideally with a strong administration background

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a people focused mind set, is really important to us

An outside the box thinker and doer

Someone who has great organisational skills and who is able to prioritise their own workload

Someone who can adapt to suit the requirements of the People Team and wider business

A high level of flexibility and a positive attitude to innovation and change

Someone who can take ownership of queries to ensure that they are managed through to resolution

Someone who is comfortable to challenge processes or practices to enable a better colleague experience

Someone who is able to maintain a high level of confidentiality

Full or part CIPD Qualified desirable, but not essential

The ability to gain Security Clearance
