Contract/Hours: Permanent, Full-Time – 37 hours a week Shifts will be 7am to 2pm, 2pm to 9pm, and alternate weekends on a rota system.

The Grove is a residential Short Breaks home in Aylesbury that supports young people to achieve  their potential, have fun and make friends within a safe supportive environment.

As an Assistant Residential Worker, you will be responsible for supporting young people aged 8-18, throughout their stay in The Grove short breaks home, assisting and making the young person's stay with us as relaxing and fun as possible.

Your role will entail safeguarding young people, enabling them to reach their full potential, supporting with all their needs and most of all having fun. You will be part of a fun, hardworking  team that works as part of a rota working a variety of early, late and weekend shifts.

How you will make a difference:

  • Working as part  of a team to provide high quality person centred care.
  • Providing support to young people who can display challenging emotional and social difficulties
  • Support Children and young people in their personal care, medication and clinical procedures in line with policies and procedures
  • Promote communication and participation
  • Carry out routine household tasks
  • Contribute to care plans, meetings reports.
  • Record observations and main up to date electronic files
  • Attend training in line with the needs of the home

About you:

  • Experience of working with children or young people (experience working with children with disabilities would be an advantage).
  • Level 3 QCF Working with Children and Young People or equivalent is desirable, or the willingness to work towards this.
  • Working on own initiative.
  • A flexible approach to working hours (service open seven days a week).
  • A good standard of written English and the ability to make accurate notes for recordkeeping.

The successful applicant for this role will also receive a comprehensive training and qualification package, as well as a 2% salary increase upon completion.
