Finlay Jude Associates are working with a leading service provider who specialise in the Water ,Wastewater and Environmental industry. This successful and growing company are now looking for an experienced Workshop Manager.
Operating across various water sectors they have developed an excellent client base with a strong and recognised brand. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in an environment that is both challenging and rewarding.
This is a client facing role with the responsibility of growing the fabrication workstreams, and taking accountability for workshop quality assurance.
The role is based in the North West with some travel to sites across the UK.
Main responsibilities include
Managing the workshop production and efficiency of the team to ensure all projects are manufactured within quoted and budgeted man hours.
Identify potential shortfall in workshop capacity and communicate to management.
Update each job status on the fabrication register throughout manufacture to allow the team to have visibility of progress.
Have an understanding of work in the pipeline to assist in forward production planning.
Manage the transport of subcontracted work to and from the office.
Oversee the receipt of materials to ensure they correspond to the paperwork and certificates received.
Note any defects and/or missing items and report to the PM.
Responsible for H&S within the Workshop, implementing risk assessment, safe systems of work, and operating procedures.
Ensuring quality is of key focus in accordance with organisational processes, completing all documentation, and compliance with BS EN 1090 standards.
Develop and motivate staff to ensure they achieve maximum performance.
Ensure all labour is fully trained to carry out their work efficiently and safely.
Contribute to continuous improvement by providing suggestions and feedback to management team.
Key skills
Be well organised, have excellent customer skills and be IT literate in MS Office packages including MS Project.
Hold appropriate qualifications in engineering and be able to display a sound understanding of relevant Legislation, including BS EN 1090 Requirements, and demonstrate competency in controlling quality systems.
Have appropriate experience and a technical understanding of the M&E requirements in the Water Industry.
Be a can do person with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Require a full driving licence and there will be an element of working away with the role.
