To manage all duties relating to Health, Safety and Environment matters for the business. Ensuring relevant occupational training is always up to date for the Installation arm of the business. Ensure the Company is legally compliant in all areas as well as compliance with Company accreditations.

Main duties

1. Undertake on site inspections and ensure follow up reports and actions are sent to appropriate parties in the business.

2. All HSE actions derived from site visits to be owned and resolved by HSE manager through engagement with relevant managers.

3. Complete factory reports/audits detailing any issues or concerns raised. (I.E. clear walkways, monitoring yard behaviours, PPE compliance etc ). All near misses, observations etc to be reported in the correct format and discussed with line management.

4. Proactively assess all working environments at all times; feeding back any potential improvements that could be made to increase/improve upon health and safety across the business.

5. Ensure weekly fire work place inspections are undertaken and records updated accordingly.

6. Review all machine check sheets provided by the Factory Manager and if necessary investigate any issues or concerns.

7. Weekly CAT downloads, investigate issues and concerns.

8. Hold relevant tool box talks with Factory and Installation teams.

9. Review site emergency procedures and where necessary make improvements and/or amendments.

10. Provide monthly summary reports for the site, detailing accident statistics, trends, and actions identifying areas of improvement.

11. Coordinate six monthly driving licence and eyesight checks.

12. Provide education, training and coaching as appropriate to ensure competence in the delivery of HSE processes (e.g. risk assessments, incident and accident management).

13. Ensure training matrix is kept up-to date and all training is booked in advanced of expiry and added to the planner. This includes the tracking of NVQ assessments.

14. Undertake timely accident and incident investigations.

15. Review of working activities; ensuring where relevant that risk assessments exist and have been reviewed/signed by relevant staff.

16. Complete Client RAM s (Risk and Method Statements) as and when required and update as necessary.

17. Complete On-Site RAM s (Risk and Method Statements) as and when required and update as necessary.

18. COSHH - ensure all materials have appropriate data sheets and correct procedures are being followed.

19. Arrange six-monthly lifting equipment inspections for insurers.

20. Arrange annual Pressure Vessels inspections for insurers.

21. Arranging six-monthly LOLER inspections of HIABS/MEWPS.

22. Ensure mini-digger checks are completed. Monitor hours of use and report any issues to Operations. Annual inspections are required.

23. Develop and regularly update HSE Policies and Procedures to ensure that company remains in line with regulatory requirements.

24. Manage the vehicle manuals and ensure content is up to date, inclusive of updated risk assessments.

25. Undertake new starter inductions in conjunction with management.

26. Ensure any appropriate new starter undertakes their face fit test.

27. Update and monitor HAVS tracker.

28. Liaise with external contractors as required.

29. Undertake any projects the management deem necessary.

Experience/Qualifications/Personal Attributes

NEBOSH Certificate in Construction.

NEBOSH General Certificate.

HERS Authorising Officer (AO).

HERS Qualified Supervisor (QS).

Harness Inspection trained.

Slinger/Signaller.

Lift Supervisor.

Good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.

Relevant experience in a related HSE position
